An Uncharted Style Romp From Visceral’s New Star Wars Game

The new game from Visceral Games will be “in the style of Uncharted.” if Nolan North, the voice of Nathan Drake, has anything to say about it.

Visceral Games' Star Wars Title?

Amy Hennig, the former creative director and writer for Naughty Dog, joined Visceral Games back in 2014 and has since been radio silent on what her next project is. But considering how EA has made the announcement that Visceral Games will be developing a new Star Wars title, it’s safe to say that Hennig’s creative touch will be part of it.

Now, after a quote from voice actor Nolan North during a Q&A panel at Metrocon 2015, we have a better idea on what to expect from the new Star Wars title.

“And if you’re a big fan of Amy Hennig and her style of [storytelling] – the big thing about her is she’s gone to EA and [she’s] going to reboot a brand new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted. And I happen to know a lot about it and it’s going to be awesome.”

Talking about an Uncharted style Star Wars will surely bring up memories of the cancelled Star Wars 1313 that was being developed by ILM before Disney purchased the entire Star Wars franchise. A fan had asked North on whether Visceral’s Star Wars title will attempt to salvage the game but North immediately shot down the notion saying that, “it’s different” but will be “along the same lines.”

Star Wars 1313

Despite all this, EA and Visceral Games has been quiet on all fronts and haven’t even reveal any details at all. Though given the fact that EA is currently busy pushing DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront, it’s understandable that EA wanted the focus be on their first Star Wars game since securing the Star Wars franchise.

In any case, we’ll probably won’t see any news from Visceral Games until 2016 at the latest. For now though, take a look at the Star Wars 1313 gameplay trailer from GT to reminisce on what the Uncharted style Star Wars game by ILM could have been.
