Announcement Trailer For Civilization VI Is A Testament To Mankind’s Progress

Progress. That is what civilization is about and this announcement trailer for Civilization VI epitomizes that progress. It helps when you have Sean Bean, of Ned Stark fame, narrating mankind’s progress with stirring music from the composer of the sci-fi flick, Sunshine.

The long-running, turn-based strategy franchise unveiled its sixth iteration along with the release date for PC on October 21, 2016. The studio heading the development are XCOM vets Firaxis Games and will be published by 2K Games.

While the trailer didn’t show any gameplay, we expect more footage will appear as we get closer to the release date. The last release, Civilization V, was a hit with both fans and critics and managed to sell over 8 million copies in its lifetime so we aren’t too concerned about the sequel’s gameplay quality.

The studio’s goal with Civilization VI is to make the game accessible to new gamers while still keep veterans happy with new systems, mechanics, and in-depth build categories.

Civilization VI will hit PCs on October 21, 2016.
