Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Will Include Battle Royale Mode But No Solo Campaign

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been confirmed in early March, but is not slated to be completely revealed until May. Based on multiple sources close to Polygon, the game will ship without a single-player campaign.

The campaign was removed because there was not enough time to complete the game before the October 12 release date. Instead, the developers from Treyarch are looking to expand the multiplayer gameplay, such as the Zombies mode, new co-op modes and even battle royale mode. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set for a community reveal event on May 17.

It has been done before and their previous title on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Black Ops 3 was launched with no campaign. Which is not to say that excluding the single-player story doesn’t comes with risk, clearly it is quite the contrary. Activision has implied that it was getting ready to take its own shot at the battle royale concept and is aware of the success that other companies have found with the battle royale genre.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is expected to launch on October 12, 2018.
