DICE Is Working On Battle Royale Prototype For Battlefield 5

EA’s DICE studio is currently working on a battle royale mode for its upcoming title Battlefield V that will features similar gameplay to Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Most of the online shooters on the market right now offers the last player-standing mode, where 100 players drop onto a map and fight till only one person or team is left standing. A source close to Venture Beat said that the last man-standing mode is in prototype stage at the moment.

Battlefield 5 launch date might be revealed at E3 later this year and the studio could put together a prototype that could compete with Fortnite and PUBG before the game’s releases. Existing battle royale shooters have attracted millions of players and it is no surprise that DICE wanted to jump on the bandwagon as well.
