The announcement came with a video message from producer Tymon Smektala on the release date for Dying Light: The Following expansion. “Today we finally know that Dying Light: The Following will launch within the first three months of 2016,” states Smektalak. He continues, “This gives us enough time to put in all the content and surprises we have planned for you guys. So keep your eyes peeled for some sneak peeks into what we have in the works for you all. And we promise to share the exact day of release as soon as we get a final decision.”

While no final release date has been released yet, Techland has already outlined how long it will take players to finish through the content. Focusing purely on the main story missions will take about 10 hours to complete. However, if players choose to seek out all the secrets, that playtime could very well extend into 20 hours.

Dying Light was released on January 2015 and is available fro Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Set in the exotic location of Harran, players must survive the open-world Zombie apocalypse by using the unique free-running gameplay mechanic. An expansion called The Following is set for a release window on the first quarter of 2016. Season Pass holders will receive the expansion for free while everyone else can purchase it separately for $14.99.
