Fallout 4’s DLCs Announced By Bethesda

It took a while but Bethesda has finally revealed the initial three DLC contents that will be making its way to the massively popular open-world RPG, Fallout 4, and it’s quite the lineup.

Fallout 4 Automatron DLC

The announcement came from a post on Bethesda official site with plenty of details on the upcoming DLCs. Players can expect new side-quests, story driven content, and workshop related content to come to Fallout 4, with the latest hitting on March 2016.

The first DLC, titled Automatron, will release on March 2016 and will cost $9,99. A brief overview on the Automatron DLC was given by Bethesda:

Fallout 4 Automatron

“The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots in the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!”

Given the price and the type of content, Automatron looks to be a side-quest sized DLC which should provide players an ample amount of playability. What’s promising is the ability to create your own robot companion based on different parts for a more customizable build. It’ll be interesting to see how much freedom Bethesda will give in terms of the robot creation kit.

Wasteland Workshop is the second DLC and will arrive on April 2016 and will cost players $4.99. Based on the description given by Bethesda, Wasteland Workshop looks to give players new items to decorate their settlements, plus the ability to capture creatures and pit them against each other. Here’s a brief overview:

Fallout 4 Wasteland Workshop

“With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures — from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your own fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!”

The biggest inclusion for Wasteland Workshop would be the arena deathmatch mode, but, given how PC players have been using mods to create their own deathmatches, this looks to be more for console players. At least now console players can get in on the fun as well.

Fallout 4 Wasteland Workshop DLC

Finally, the last of the three DLCs will be the Far Harbor DLC, and it seems to be the biggest one yet. Priced at $24.99, Far Harbor looks to be a story-driven content which should satisfy plenty of Fallout 4 fans and is set to drop in May 2016.

Fallout 4 Far Harbor

“A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass of an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures, and dungeons. Become more power with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.”

Given the amount of content coming, it’s no surprise that Far Harbor is the most expensive of the three DLCs. What’s surprising is that Bethesda notes that there are more DLCs planned in the future. Because of that, Bethesda has increased the price of the season pass from $29.99 to $49.99. If you have purchased the season pass, you will be still be getting all the additional DLCs at no extra cost.
