Head To The Tracks With Driveclub Playstation Plus Edition For Free!

Developer Evolution Studios introduced their racing game, Driveclub, back when Playstation 4 was first unveiled. The game came and went, however, Sony and Evolution Studios also promised something else for the Sony faithfuls and that was the Playstation Plus Edition of Driveclub.

Well, two years later and they made good on that promise!

Yes, the PS Plus Edition of Driveclub has finally come to Playstation 4 owners when it was released on June 25th. Despite the numerous delays, the game is now available for download for Playstation Plus members but will be limited to offline play only at the moment.

The online aspect of the PS Plus edition will be rolled out later on. And the aim is to steadily let players have online access to avoid server crashes, which, after the launch of Driveclub, it’s wise for Evolution Studios to avoid taxing the servers again.

Driveclub Playstation Plus Edition

“We have to take this precaution because ‘Driveclub’ connectivity is demanding for a multiplayer game, with countless ever-growing social connections across clubs, challenges, multiplayer and hundreds of thousand of dynamic leaderboards and activity feeds,” states Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida on a Playstation Blog post.

The following features will be available on the Playstaion Plus Edition of Driveclub:

Every Driveclub feature: from online multiplayer matches and challenges, to offline solo racing, Tour events, customization, replays, Photo Mode and more.

The option to create your own races with full control over the time of day and the weather.

Access to all 13 tracks in India, one of six locations in Driveclub.

15 cars for your garage.

A full set of 27 Playstation trophies that includes the Platinum trophy.

If you happen to like the game enough that you would want to get the complete version, Evolution Studios will allow you to upgrade the PS Plus edition to the full edition for $24.99. The full version will net you “an extra 40+ cars, 65 tracks and a vast single player campaign.”
