Microsoft Might Be Showcasing Project Scorpio This Week

Among the thoughts floating about Project Scorpio was that you can upgrade it like a PC, raising its power with new parts before the Xbox’s latest console was formally announced.

Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, says that gamers will not be using a screwdriver to disassemble the console and it’s quite unlikely that the Scorpio is getting any upgrade-able components when it is released later this year.

“The idea that users will open up a console and change compute components inside seems like a stretch to me if you ask me.”

Project Scorpio is set to be the next most powerful console in the market with 6 teraflops of performance, 8 CPU cores, 320GB/s memory bandwidth and with 4k capabilities. The console plays all Xbox One games and works with all the controllers along with other peripherals you might already own. The Scorpio will definitely costs more compared to the Xbox One and Spencer has also teased that more news will be announced before this upcoming Microsoft’s E3 2017 briefing in June.

Microsoft is also hoping to run the new Call of Duty 2017 game on the Scorpio, coming from a leaked marketing information which states that first-party and third-party titles such as Forza Motorsport 7, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, FIFA and Madden are set to be shown off running in 4K at E3.
