Mighty No.9 Is Finally Coming With A New Release Date

After what seems to be a rather tumultuous road to release, the Kickstarter darling Mighty No.9 is finally getting their official new release date. Announced by developer Comcept and publisher Deep Silver, Mighty No.9 is expected for release on February 9th, 2016, in North America with a worldwide release date on February 12th.

Mighty No. 9 Release Date

The spiritual successor to Mega Man found great success when it was introduced in the crowdfunding site, Kickstarter. Headed by the original developer and creator of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune, the Kickstarter for Mighty No.9 reached a staggering funding of $4,000,000 during its campaign.

Despite the overwhelming support for fans and gamers alike, Comcept has been facing development issues that has caused the game to be delayed from its original release date of September 15th, 2015. Hopefully, with this new release date, fans will finally be able to get their hands on the action/platformer game, which is the spiritual successor to the much beloved Mega Man series.

Mighty No.9 puts you in control of Beck, a robot who is on a mission to catch the villain responsible for releasing a virus that affect robots around the world and causing them to go out of control. It is up to Beck to stop all these rogue robots and save the world from the clutches of evil.

Designed in the same vein of Mega Man, players traverse across a 2.5D sidescrolling stage to reach the end, where they can challenge a rogue robot boss and acquire their abilities  While there are plenty of similarities to the blue bomber, Mighty No.9 differs in that Beck is able to transform and reconfigure himself according to the new skills and abilities that players acquired.

Mighty No.9 is set for release on February 9th in North America and February 12th worldwide. The game will come to Windows, Linux, OS X, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Playstation Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
