More Free DLCs Are Coming To Star Wars: Battlefront

With it’s release, Star Wars: Battlefront is evidently a huge hit for Electronic Arts and DICE, as indicated by the positive sales numbers coming. EA also revealed that Battlefront has become the best-selling digital title from launch, compared to all of their catalogue.

Star Wars: Battlefront Future Free DLC

While it’s no doubt that a strong multiplayer and exquisite graphics has been the major factor for the Battlefront‘s success, it’s also the steady stream of content that EA and DICE have planned for the game, starting with the free DLC, Battle of Jakku. While the season pass will provide more content for players in 2016, turns out EA and DICE decided more content for Battlefront will be a better idea.

On a post on Battlefront’s official site, DICE stated that will continue to provide new content for free, on top of the season pass content that’s coming.

“Of course, we are also planning to support Star Wars: Battlefront with new content well into the future. We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass. We’ll have more to share soon.”

When Star Wars: Battlefront was released, gamers and critics alike praised DICE’s ability to authenticly recreate the sights and sounds of the Star Wars universe. Using the Bitefrost engine, the visuals for Battlefront allows for moments of awe when battling on iconic maps such as Endor and Hoth. Unfortunately, plenty of reviewers were critical with Battlefront’s “bare-bones” content, which many felt didn’t warrant a $60 price tag, let alone a $50 season pass.

Hopefully, with more free content coming, EA and DICE will be able to keep players in the game and avoid a huge dropoff. Star Wars: Battlefront is available now on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. I used to be awesome at games like these.
