Nintendo Aiming For July Release For The AR Pokémon GO Game

Pokémon fans might finally be able to live out their trainer dreams when the AR game Pokémon GO releases in July, as reported by Gamespot. While there’s no specific day or date, at least we have a release window.

The free-to-play game uses AR to simulate players catching Pokémons out in the real world. An accessory called the Pokémon GO Plus was revealed during the Nintendo E3 direct where players can use in tandem with the game.

The wristband accessory will cost $35 and connects via Bluetooth to your smartphone. With the wristband, players will be able to catch wild Pokémons “with a simple click of a button” as well collect in-game items at specific locations, without ever needing to pull out a smartphone.

While it’s available to pre-order on Amazon, Nintendo has not confirmed a release date for the accessory yet. Given that the game looks to go live in July, its release might not be far behind.

Pokémon GO will launch on Android and iOS devices in July 2016.
