Nintendo Switch Online Service Is Free Until Next Year

Nintendo’s paid online service has been delayed and online play for Switch games will be free until 2018. Switch owners can gain access to co-op and competitive games online by signing in with their Nintendo accounts.

When the service comes online next year, membership for a month will cost $3.99, 3 months subscription at $7.99 and $19.99 for a year.

Furthermore, Nintendo Switch online subscribers will get unlimited access to a library of classic games with online play, which also contains NES games as well. The company confirms Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario are playable in the classic library and additional games will be announced at a later date.

Subscribers also gets special rebates on new games purchase through eShop.
