Pacific Rim 2 Finally Has A Release Date

The sequel to Guillermo Del Toro’s epic robot kaiju brawl finally has a release date. Get ready to jump back in the Jaegers and battle behemoths when Pacific Rim 2 hits theaters on February 23rd, 2018.

Pacific Rim 2 Release Date

Originally slated for an April 2017 release, the movie suffered numerous delays that kept pushing its release date. It was only February recently that news of Pacific Rim began resurfacing with Daredevil head writer Steven S. DeKnight announced as the new director, with Del Toro’s blessing, and confirmation of a new lead with John Boyega.

The original Pacific Rim was praised for its epic robot battles and striking visuals, yet it performed modestly in its US release. However, its international release was met with commercial success, which warranted its sequel.

Here’s hoping to more epic kaiju battles when Pacific Rim 2 releases on February 23rd, 2018.
