Pebble 2, Time 2, And Core Unveiled By Pebble On Kickstarter

Pebble is back again with a whole new lineup of smart wearables for the future. Introducing the Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, and the Pebble Core.

The Kickstarter project was announced yesterday with Pebble releasing a video that shows off the three Pebble devices. The Pebble 2, a continuation of the original Pebble is slimmer and lighter. It still utilizes the same black and white display but now comes with a Gorilla Glass coating instead of plastic coating. It will also come with heart rate sensors, a built-in microphone and a battery life of 7 days.

Pebble Time 2 also sees improvement as a second iteration of the Pebble Time series. Sporting a steel body with smaller bezels, the Pebble Time 2 now has an increased color display estate of up to 50 percent. Similar to the Pebble 2, the Pebble Time 2 will include a built-in microphone and heart rate sensors but will come with 10 days of battery life.

Both will be water resistant up to 30 meters and priced (for Kickstarter pledges) at $99 for Pebble 2 and $169 for Time 2.

Pebble's New Lineup

Probably the one that intrigues the most out of all of Pebble’s new lineup is the Pebble Core, which is basically an iPod mini for Spotify. The Core, which costs $69 (if you pledge for it), is a tiny cube that’s specced like a mini-computer with 3G and GPS and powered on Android 5.0. It has one button that (if you choose the Hacker SKU) can be customized to do simple actions such as calling Uber or to open your garage door with a single press.

The Pebble 2 is slated for shipping in September while the Time 2 looks to ship in November. The Pebble Core, however, is expected to ship by January 2017.

As of this moment, Pebble has managed to accumulate over $5 million in pledges, going over their $1 million stretch goal in a matter of hours. This also mean that the slots are going fast, so, if you want to secure yourself either of the devices, head over their Kickstarter here and make a pledge now.
