Sea of Thieves Has Gained Over 2 Million Pirates

Microsoft reported that Sea of Thieves is performing fairly well as one of the best-selling Microsoft Studios first-party title on Windows 10. The game has passed one million players during launch, and the game currently has two million players.

According to Microsoft, this makes it the fastest-selling first-party brand new IP of this generation. Aaron Greenberg, Xbox Marketing manager, said that the fastest selling IP doesn’t include Game Pass. The game has been been streamed by over 100,000 players leading to over 10 million hours watched in the previous week. Microsoft also reported half a million new Xbox Live friendships were formed and 400,000 players joined a Xbox Club to locate players to join in Sea of Thieves.

Players that bought the PC version of Sea of Thieves will have more control over the graphic settings than the console version, where players can pick how much graphical fidelity they are willing to sacrifice to reach the preferred frame rate. The great news is that players could just get the game once to access it on PC or Xbox One. Sea of Thieves supports cross-play so players can play with a friend regardless of platforms they are playing this game from.

Sea of Thieves is currently available for Xbox One and PC. Through the Xbox Play Anywhere program, purchasing the game digitally for one platform will automatically unlock the other too.
