Sony says that it is dropping prices for its PlayStation VR and the new price will take effect on September 1st, 2017.

Starting next month, the company is releasing a brand new bundle featuring the PlayStation VR headset and PlayStation Camera that will cost $399 in the U.S and $449 for the more pricey bundle which includes two PlayStation Move controllers, a camera, and PlayStation Worlds, a collection of five different VR experiences that have all been built from the ground up exclusively for the PS VR headset.

Even with a price tag of $449 for the Sony’s expensive bundle, it’s still slightly cheaper than the Oculus Rift that is currently sold for $499 since July. Virtual reality is expensive technology and due to intense competition in the VR market, major high-end VR headsets have seen price reduction this year. HTC has reduced its price tag for the Vive recently and it is now selling for $599.

Sony has a great lineup of over 100 games for the PlayStation VR which includes Farpoint, Batman: Arkham VR, Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Resident Evil 7 biohazard. The PlayStation VR games portfolio keeps growing, and even big titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, Doom VFR, Sparc, Bravo Team and The Inpatient is included in the PlayStation VR experience.
