The City Scanner From Half-Life 2 Comes To Life With This Drone Mod

We know won’t be getting Half-Life 3 anytime soon (or ever based on Gabe Newell’s interviews), but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate what made it awesome.

Modder Valplushka decided to show his love for Half-Life 2 by bringing the City Scanner (or Scanner Type I) to life and did so by extensively modding a quadcopter with glowing red iris, floodlight, and a surprisingly articulate armor plate, to make it look like its digital counterpart.

While it won’t be attacking you or a mute bespectacled hero anytime soon, it can still give you a sense of dread and weary with its glowing red iris and eerie hovering.

Check out the Scanner in action along with Valplushka showing how he transformed a drone into a City Scanner.
