The Division’s Upcoming DLC Have Been Delayed

Ubisoft has announced that the upcoming DLC expansions for The Division have been delayed. Expect the next expansion, Survival, to arrive at a “later date this year”.

The announcement came via a blog post over at The Division‘s website. In it, the developers explained that before releasing any content, the intent to fix all the lingering issues that the game faces in the upcoming update 1.4.

“With update 1.4 in the works, it has become clear with your feedback and our own observations that our priority should now be on improving the core gameplay experience,” it writes in the blog post. “Survival, the second expansion that was initially planned for release with Update 1.4 is now postponed to a later date this year. The third expansion, Last Stand, will be released in early 2017.”

Update 1.4, which is said to focus on “bug fixing, game balancing, and other improvements”, is expected to drop on October independently from the Survival expansion.

As for the major changes that the developers are looking to fix in the upcoming patch, here’s a list of it:

- Fixing bugs, including those listed in our Known Issues as well as many other ones
- Making loot drops more relevant to the player
- Enemy difficulty and time to kill
- Gear set and weapons balancing
- Solo player experience
- Dark Zone and PvP balancing
- Quality of life additions based on community suggestions (such as weapon skins no longer taking inventory space)

Despite receiving favourable reviews and commercial success, The Division suffered plenty of issues past its launch with many players complaining over bugs, balance issues, and post-release content that’s not engaging enough. As a result, player population have dropped off significantly in the recent months.

Hopefully, with the new update, more players will return back to the open-world shooter. The Division is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
