The Street Fighter 5 Beta Returns For Another Knock-Out Round

Fighters, are you ready to return to the ring? Well, better brush up on those combo skills because the Street Fighter 5 Beta is set to return on December 17th and will run until the 20th if reports are to be believed. The weekend beta should definitely be enough time for developers to stress test the game and work out any issues.

Street Fighter 5 Beta Laura

Reports have indicated that the Playstation 4 version of the Street Fighter 5 beta had been given an update, which puts it up to version 1.06. On the PC front, a report from Event Hubs also mentions of an update similar to the Playstation 4 made available for the PC version.

While the update could be an indicator for the beta, it was none other than the Playstation Network itself that gave a clear indication of the beta test for Street Fighter 5. On a news post by a NeoGAF user, a picture of the Playstation Network ad with the game being advertised clearly states a beta test that runs from December 17th till the 20th.

Street Fighter 5 Beta Weekend

Currently, there is no official announcements by Capcom. As such, details on the content of the beta is still sparse. In the past two betas, Capcom included Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash, and M.Bison for its summer beta with the early fall beta featuring Ken, Necalli, Vega, R. Mika, Rashid, and Karin. So far, only Zangief, Laura, and Dhalsim have yet to appear in the beta, which makes them the most likely candidate to be in the upcoming beta. However, Capcom still has one more unannounced fighter left and seeing that Street Fighter 5 will be playable at Playstation Experience (PSX) this weekend, we’ll likely be introduced to another fighter for the game’s roster.

In any case, we’ll probably hear more from Capcom during PSX. Street Fighter 5 is scheduled for release in February 2016 and will be available exclusively on Playstation 4 and PC.
