The World Is Your Playground With Crackdown 3

It’s been a long while since fans had the chance to roam around Pacific City and dish out justice with Crackdown. At Gamescom, Microsoft has finally unveiled the sequel to the massive sandbox game with Crackdown 3 and it looks awesome!

During Xbox’s press conference, they showed off a Pre-Alpha gameplay trailer that clocks in at about 2 minutes. Despite it being only 2 minutes, there were lots of interesting tidbits that fans can pick from the brief gameplay footage.

As with previous iterations of Crackdown, players will take control of an elite agent, as part of The Agency, and is tasked with keeping the peace on the futuristic city of Pacific City. Of course, fans of the series know that the best part about Crackdown is not the story, but the absolute freedom and destruction that you wreck in this digital playground.

A press statement from Microsoft tells us how much bigger Crackdown 3 is going to be.

“Crackdown 3 is bringing you a 4-person co-operative campaign enhanced with a new dynamic story, cutting-edge weapons and vehicles, enemies you’ll love to hate — and of course, tons of orbs collect! Crackdown 3 will also deliver a groundbreaking competitive multiplayer mode, where everything is physical thanks to the Microsoft Cloud. Harness 20 times the power of your Xbox One to unleash 100 percent destructible environments for the first time ever in gaming and create your own explosive stories in the process.”

Crackdown 3 Destructibility

And the destructibility of the game is truly a sight to behold. From buildings to skyscrapers, everything can be destroyed in Crackdown 3 and helping you do that is an improved arsenal that ranges from the typical guns to the massive rocket launchers and a fully customizable car that can transform. ,

Throughout the awesomeness, they managed to announce that a multiplayer beta will be making its way to Xbox One sometime in 2016. For now, no dates have been announced but Crackdown 3 is slated for a 2016 release and will come exclusively to Xbox One.
