Treyarch Patches Up Call of Duty Black Ops 3

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launched with a rousing success this past week with Activision reporting that it managed to earn $550 million (these were also sold-to-customers, and not shipped numbers) within the first three days of launch. And with early reports indicating that the digital sales are significantly better than Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 seems to be another hit for Activision.

Unfortunately for PC users, the game was shipped with some pretty serious issues that plagued it, similar to Advanced Warfare on PC in the previous year.

Call of duty: Black Ops 3 Patch

Players that launched game have reported experiencing slowdowns and stuttering. It’s even worse for CPUs with i5 processors as it render the game unplayable after a few minutes due to memory leaks. Treyarch did offer a quick fix for the issue, but it doesn’t seem to work with some users.

Thankfully, a new PC patch was released over the weekend which is meant to clear up performance issues that the game is suffering from. The stealth patch update requires a 520MB download and was only highlighted as “bug fixes and performance improvements” on their Steam Community page. No other details were given on what the patch actually entails from any of Call of Duty‘s official channels.

Despite the release of the patch, there are still some reports of users experiencing issues on getting the game to run smoothly. Hopefully, Treyarch can follow through with another patch that can cater to the wildly varied gaming rigs of PC gamers.

Prior to the PC-specific update, Treyarch released a Game Setting Update for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The update includes the following:

- Spawn locations altered in Free for All and Gun Game
- Anti-Up issue in Arena mode has been fixed
- Issues with some challenges have been fixed
- Increased the amount of score earned in Search & Destroy as well as XP earned per kill (from 250 to 500)
- Solo games in Zombies mode should no longer be joinable

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
