Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Identity For iOS

Mobile gamers, get ready to join the battle between Templars and Assassins with the iOS exclusive, Assassin’s Creed Identity, coming to Apple devices this February.

Assassin's Creed Identity Classes

Despite rumors of a major Assassin’s Creed title skipping out on its yearly release, Ubisoft is peppering 2016 with Assassin’s Creed games in different forms. Earlier this year saw the release of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer with another installation on February 9th with Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia.

Assassin’s Creed Identity, on the other hand, takes an Action-RPG approach to the Assassin’s game. Set during the Italian Renaissance, a familiar location to Assassin’s Creed fans, where players will customize their own assassin with four different classes: Berserker, Shadow, Blade, Trickster, and Thief.

The Berserker focuses more on combat, Shadow Blade is for those with a penchant for a stealth approach, Trickster is a balanced class while Thief focuses on agility and speedy movements. There’s also different weapons and outfits to further customize your assassin and to level them up through the Assassin’s rank.

Despite being a mobile-only release, Assassin’s Creed Identity will still adopt the third-person free-running mechanic but blends them with role-playing mechanics. Controls will utilize dual virtual analog sticks and tap based mechanics for overall action, however, if you prefer a physical controller, the game will come with gamepad support.

Assassin's Creed Identity Gameplay

Ubisoft promises plenty of content with a main storyline mission and plenty of sidequests where you’ll learn more about The Mystery of The Crows whilst exploring Firenze and Roma. With this much content, Assassin’s Creed Identity will be priced at $4.99 so players won’t have to worry about any in-app purchases or freemium models to enjoy the game fully.

If you still need your fix of Assassin’s Creed this year, be sure to pick up Assassin’s Creed Identity on February 25th for iOS and play it on iPad 3 or later and iPhone 5 or later.
