Vega Slices Up Competition As The Newest Addition To Street Fighter V

The latest entry to the growing roster of Street Fighter V has been revealed. It’s none other than Vega, the Spanish fighter with a penchant for flair and he’s the seventh character to officially join Capcom’s latest brawler.

As with the previously revealed Ken, Vega seems to be sporting some new duds for Street Fighter V. Probably the biggest change that fans will notice is that he is no longer shirtless! Yes, the perpetual “epitome of perfection” has gone beyond hiding his beautiful face under the mask and decides to finally cover up his equally eye-catching body.

Character designs aside, Street Fighter enthusiasts can rest assure that Vega will retain his signature speed and fast-paced attack. Along with his new look, fans can also forward to some new moves from Vega this time around.

He now comes with two new fighting modes: grab command and new attack properties and is also able to sheathe/unsheathe his claw during battle to allow a new combination of combos. As always, if you dropped the claw, you won’t be able to pick it up which makes the combos without his claw a very useful arsenal to master.

As for his V-Skill, Matador Turn allows him to dodge an opponent’s incoming attack and can also choose to either knock the opponent down or not as a counterattack.

Street Fighter V Vega Reveal

His V-Trigger, Bloody Kiss, is a special move where he throws a rose “at high velocity” at the opponent, which if it hits, initiate a combo finisher with a series of slashes that will also serve as an “anti-air from crouch or as an air attack when jumping forward.” The V-Trigger will definitely be a versatile move that can serve as a projectile attack and a combo extender for experienced gamers.

Vega will be playable during this week Gamescom 2015 at Sony’s booth. Street Fighter V is set to hit Playstation 4 and PC on March 2016.
