The Yuan-ti Wild
A Yuan-ti native approaches you as soon as you enter this level. She begs you to save the Priestess and gives you a Serpent's Ring to aid you. That's not much, but at least it's better than nothing. Toggle your map and rotate it so the warp point is south. Ultimately, you have to find your way up north. Despite the surroundings, this isn't a really difficult map. As always, you can hug and follow a wall until you reach somewhere new.
Enemies in this area are Web Spiders and Yuan-ti. The damage they deal isn't too much; it's the poison effects that become increasingly annoying. Start by hugging the left wall (or trees) as soon as you start. There's a small altar with crates that you can break open. If you keep following the wall, you will be faced to either follow it south or break the hug and go north. Only a Fountain of Health lies at the south end, so don't waste your time if you don't need it. Go up north instead and head east. After you meet the Yuan-ti native again, head north again until you see a small camp. From here, go west. You'll see the Burial Ground, which is also the home of the stolen crown. Clear the area and keep on heading west until you reach the end. After you hacked everything, enter the black hole to a secret area. It has goodies as well as the Bella Note that Taarian was seeking for. Head back out to the encampment you saw earlier after encountering with the Yuan-ti native.
From the camp, go east until you can see the exit. Before you do, go up north-east. Yes you'll encounter an enchanted Yuan-ti snake with its minions, but this fight should give you nothing but XP. There is another secret area by crawling into the hole again, this time with a Soul Shard waiting for you.
King's Fort
This part of the map is pretty simple, but time consuming. You'll face many, many Yuan-ti here. Go straight ahead after saving your game until you come along a split. The suggested path will be the one on the left, as it leads to a Fountain of Health, whereas the right leads to a Fountain of Mystic Will. Whichever side you choose, you will have to go up north pass a long stretch of walls that emits poison gas. After the stretch, follow the outer wall until you reach a fountain. From either fountain, go up north about a few steps to find another path with the same poison emitting walls. On each side has a touch plate for you to step on in order to raise some platforms.
Once you step on a touch plate, you don't have to go all the way back to the beginning to touch the other touch plate. There is a bridge opposite of the fountains that connect. Once both touch plates have been stepped on, travel to the center platform to pull a lever that unlocks a door. There is also a Soul Shard in plain sight before the two level ascensions to the lever. Once pulled, enter through the once locked doors toward your next area.
Tree Towers
This part of the level can be a bit troublesome. First off, save and then head up north. There's only one way to go. In the first hut, you'll encounter a family of Yuan-ti, as with each hut you'll plow through. From this first hut, go west. You'll run across a bridge (most likely with Yuan-ti you have to mow down) with a hut on the south side. Raid it if you want XP or just ignore it until you enter another hut. From this hut, head up north until you reach another hut. Ransack this hut and then head east. From this platform, go up first and toggle the yellow switch. Head back down to the platform and go south of it to hit the red switch. You have two more swtiches to go, and they're on the other side. From here, you might want to backtrack to the very first hut.
From this first hut, keep going east until you reach another hut, ignoring the hut on the south side connected to the bridge. Head north from this hut into another, ransack these Yuan-ti, and proceed west. From this platform, go up north to hit the green switch, and do the same thing for the last switch. If you hit any of these swtiches out of the order I gave them to you in, the locks will reset. After they have been toggled correctly, the swtiches unlocks the gate. After you hit the last switch, go back to the platform and go right into the hut. Go up north into another hut and do another ransack. Go west, ignoring the hut connected to the bridge at the north, until you reach the Soul Shard and the gate that leads to your next area. If you decide to clear out this whole level for XP, be warned that the poison damage accumulates and can ultimately kill your hero.
The Inner Sanctum
There is only one path here. Take your time and conserve all your HP as possible. The very last room has a boss that holds your next gem. In the fourth hut, you'll face the King Yuan-ti. It's not hard to defeat if you use some items and your general strategy of hack and slash. After you obtain the crown, you can go all the way back to the Burial Ground to return it or just do it later.
As you rescue the Prestess, she tells you that she cannot leave until the boss is dead. You will make sure this happens when you enter the next area. Make sure you save before venturing on though.
Boss: The Yrthak
When you engage in a boss fight, you cannot save. Lucky you saved before, right?
Don't let any of the bosses intimidate you. They all look mean, but they can be brought down fairly quick. When the Yrthak is flying, you cannot deal any damage to it. During this time, it'll drop boulders like bombs. This is a time where you might want to hold down the R button for slow motion and look at where the boulders will land. After it lands, you can attack it once or twice before it becomes invulnerable again by shielding itself in its wings. After it reopens its wings, it can emit a sonic wave that knocks your character around. If you get hit by its wing sweep, it'll knock your character back and it'll take awhile for your character to run back up and hack it. Using Beserk Brews is recommended as you want to deal as much damage as you can to this monster. When you defeat the boss, proceed on to obtain your gem.
You can now have several tasks to perform: return the crown back to the Burial Ground and give Taarian the Bella Note. You get a reward for both of these tasks, but Taarian also gives you another task--return the Horned Skull to its tomb. You'll hold on to this Horned Skull for awhile so don't worry about it. Sell any extra items you don't need before proceeding.
As you unlock the door to your next level, Lidda approaches you. She's turning into Kaeden and you have to kill her now. No, just kidding. Her buddy, Laundra disappeared into the Metalworks, you very next level. What a coincidence!
Engines
This level can be a real drain on your Raise Dead Amulets. The Magma Golems can burn off your HP as fast as you regenerate it if you get caught in its blast. It's even worse when two Magma Golems perform the same attack on you and you get trapped. Truly, unlucky. So save as soon as you start this level.
After you start, you might have noticed the sparkling item in the intro cutscene. You have to collect five diamonds in order to finish this level. It's hidden underneath the third pile of ash. Simply walk over it to pick it up. If the Clockwork Workers freak you out, you can destroy them. They will not come after you and attack you if they see you or if you see them, but they will attack you under two circumstances: you attack them first or if you stand in the way of their path of travel. Yes, this can get really annoying if you're running away from a Magma Golem because you have to deal with another enemy. So a recommendation is to hack'em as well. They don't do much damage, but they sometimes explode and cause some damage to your character. Anyway, go all the way up north past your first diamond. You'll have to cross this corridor with flames that shoot out from the floor. Time your movement to get past it with ease.
The next section introduces you to the Fire Giants. They are deadly if you stand in front of them because of their flamethrower attack. Run behind them and attack'em and you should be fine.Another thing that looks interesting in this area are the minecarts. Touch'em and you get damaged. D & D is a very harsh world and punishes curiosity. Who'd knew? Get past this area and work your way across two sets of flame shooting floors into the next section.
This section is the biggest due to the minecarts and Clockwork Workers moving so freely about. It is recommended that you destroy all the Clockwork Workers now before you run in their paths and have about 50 billion of them coming after you. They don't regenerate even though they enter through a door; that same one comes back out somewhere else. At the end is the second diamond, guarded by an enchanted Fire Giant.
Smelters
This area introduces you to the Magma Golems. To make things worse, you are confined and will have to deal with two of them at a time, not mentioning the flames shooting out of the ground again. Save first, cry later.
Head up north until you see the Magma Golem. Without hesitating, attack one a.s.a.p. Kill the other one as fast as you can to minimalize the damage. If you sustained too much damage but too cheap to use your healing items, relax for a bit before you travel up north again. It's pretty much the same thing and you also retrieve the third diamond before you leave this area.
Cooling Room
No, there are no ways to fool the Magma Golems into the water and have a cheap kill, although that'd be nice. Save and then start by attacking the newest enemy, the Clockwork Soldiers. Be careful of active lava activity going on. Hug the right wall until you reach a corner next to a fan. You can destroy the fan by simply attacking it, but it's much more to your interest to bust the barrels and proceed through the gate. It'll lead you to a secret area which has a Soul Shard as well as many other goodies. If you notice this secret area, it's actually just the room you were in!
Once back out, head straight in front of you. Rotate your camera so you can see the fans to your hero's left and start counting up to the third fan (including the one next to the entrance to the secret area). Once you reach the third one, smash it. It leads to a secret area with many goodies. Continue on north after your looting for another four fans. This leads to another secret area with a Soul Shard. As soon as you come back out, don't go north. Instead, go east and cross the bridge. The fan in front of you also leads to another secret area with more goodies. After you raid this place, head back north until you see the last bridge. Pick up the fourth crystal and head up north.
This last section is pretty gruesome. If you get caught by the smashings, you lose a lot of HP. Ride on the track trailing the motlen material to ensure safe passings. Clockwork Soldiers will be see you as you travel up north and face another enchanted enemy. Happy hacking and slashing!
Die Cast
You might want to save after that last hectic part. You have to pretty much do the same thing for this first section of the map. As you near the end, head west. You'll see Laundra locked up in a cage. The keyholder of the cage is directly south of you. Save and prepare for battle. When you enter the Chieftain's room, head to the hero's right. Behind the crates is a secret area with a Fountain of Health. Lure the boss in and then go for an easy kill. Grab his key and pick up the Soul Shard that is in the Chieftain's room and free Laundra. Laundra gives you the last of the five crystals which enables you to end this level.
This next section is a real pain. The Iron Giants are difficult to take down--they take away massive HP. If you want to conserve HP and time, head east as far as you can until you go around a wall to meet with the enchanted Iron Golem. Use some items this time before his comrades catch up and pound on you too.
Boss: The Red Dragon
(Save!) Ah, a classic. The Red Dragon very much like the Yrthak can fly. When it's airborne, it is immune to attacks. During this time, run perpendicular to the dragon. Again, this would be a good time to make use of the slow motion effect. When the dragon lands back down is your time to attack. The attack you pray for is its fireball attack. It shoots out towards the center of the room and homes in on your character. This takes up the most time which allows you to deal the most damage. If the red dragon decides to use its flamethrower attack, it takes out chunks of your HP as well as knocking you back a few feet. Use Globe Potions if you have any and don't feel bad if your character dies several times. This is a stage where Raise Dead Amulets are used.
Once you've obtained your third gem, return back to the shoppe and talk with Rik. Rik decides to leave--then who will stick around to sell things? Exit the shoppe to the market and come back in to find out!
