16 Things You Should Know About PUBG Mobile

PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular games on the planet. If you plan on playing the game, whether casually or professionally, you’ll want to know severalthings before getting started. Like whether you should buy PUBG UC and how to play better than others.

pubg china ban

1. China Banned PUBG

PUBG had over 70 million daily players on Mobile before China decided to shut the game down. China has a lot of power and censorship over games and the industry in general. PUBG didn’t get regulatory approval to be played in the country.

Instead, the game had to be turned into the “Game for Peace.”

The game is a “patriotic” version of the game. While the game was “banned,” it was technically able to operate in China. It just wasn’t allowed to make any revenue. Since 70 million people were playing per day, there would be massive expenses with no means of revenue to cover them.

Tencent, the game’s developer, had to add in China’s air force squad, known as the blue sky warriors, to appeal to regulators. Game for Peace is said to be very similar to PUBG Mobile, but there are a few key differences:

  • No blood
  • The dead wave goodbye

It’s a quirky game, and while I haven’t played it personally, I have heard it’s still a fun game to play.

pubg 50 million

2. Over 50 Million People Play

Every day, over 50 million people log into the game to play. There was a time when people claimed that over 100 million people logged in daily, but I can’t confirm nor deny this claim. It’s possible that the number of active users has gone down since the game’s release.

This figure does not include China’s active players since the game’s name has changed.

If you count China, the daily active users would be closer to 100 to 120 million daily active users.

pubg 400 million

3. PUBG Mobile Has Been Downloaded Hundreds of Millions of Times

Android and iOS versions of PUBG exist. You can play the game on most devices, and it runs especially well on older smartphones, too. The game has been downloaded a staggering 734 milliontimes, and chances are, this figure is up even higher since it was released in July 2020.

The majority of players are using Android.

Google Play accounts for 65% of all installs, while the App Store accounts for the remaining 35% of installs.

pubg mobile

4. $3 Billion in Revenue in Months

Mobile games can be very lucrative, but very few games are able to generate $3 billion within seven months of the game being released. The figure does include the revenue that’s generated from Game For Peace.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, you would expect revenue to fall, and this has been the case.

March’s revenue figures topped $270 million, while April and May had $238 million and $215 million in revenue respectively. The game(s) have generated over $1.3 billion in 2020 alone – a massively impressive figure.

China’s version of the game outperforms the rest of the world, generating a staggering $1.6 billion. Tencent made a smart choice by converting the game over to a China-friendly option since it generates 52% of revenue.

By comparison, the United States only accounts for 14% of total revenue.

pubg mobile india

5. India is Addicted to the Game

What country plays PUBG Mobile more than any other? According to downloads only, we can see that India’s players have downloaded the game over 175 million times. That’s a massive amount of installs and accounts for roughly 24% of all games installs.

China comes in a close second, with 16.7% of downloads and only 6% in the United States.

pubg loot

6. Looting is Far More Efficient

A lot of advancements have been added into the game that will make playing a lot easier. Players are often concerned that when they pick up loot, they’ll need to spend a massive amount of time equipping items.

PUBG Mobile is too fast-paced for you to deal with gun attachments and menus.

Instead, the game’s looting is very efficient, allowing for looting attachments that are automatically added to weapons. Attachments snap to the weapons and eliminate the hassle of trying to look through inventory and risking getting shot in the process.

pubg directional cue

7. Directional Feedback is Built Into the Game

When you play PUBG Mobile, you’ll find that there is directional feedback. What does this mean? If you have someone running at you, it’s directional, allowing you to have a better idea of where the hostile is located.

I recommend using headphones to take advantage of this feedback.

Mobile also has visual cues that you can rely on. The visual cues put a marker on the screen that allows you to find where the bullet was coming from. You can use the feedback to recover from the shot and try and recover.

Now is a good time to take your painkillers or energy drinks to recover from the shot and try to kill the enemy.

pubg shoot

8. You Can Shoot With Either Hand

When you’re in the middle of a conflict, you’ll notice that there’s a bullet circle icon on both sides of the screen. You can use both hands to tap the screen and shoot. It’s up to you to determine which hand you want to use to shoot.

Typically, a person will aim with one hand and shoot with the other.

Everyone has their own shooting hand preference, or if you’re ambidextrous, you can shoot with both hands if you want.

pubg mobile gyroscope

9. Phone Aiming is an Option

Like the way that you can use the Nintendo Switch to aim in the game? You can do the same exact thing with your phone, although it’s not apparent if you just jump into the game and start playing.

Your phone has a gyroscope, and it’s a great option when you’re trying to snipe your enemies.

If you want to be able to use your phone to aim, you’ll have to go into the settings option and turn on the gyroscope. The one thing I like about the gyroscope is that you can make very small, accurate movements that are perfect if you’re struggling with accuracy.

You can bet that all of the advanced snipers in the game are using their phone to aim.

pubg mobile world league

10. PUBG Mobile Pro League is Growing

The PUBG Mobile tournaments are some of the most popular in the esports industry. The league brings together the top players and has a prize pool of $200,000, or the most recent tournament was offering this much.

Tencent is the one offering the prize and organizes the event, which includes the America’s top 20 teams.

First prize winners receive a staggering $55,000 in prize money. Even the last place team receives $2,000. Weekly base winnings are added, so there are a lot of ways for the top players in the game to make some money playing.

Out of the top 20 teams, only 8 will make it to the finals.

The entire event lasts over a period of three weeks where players will play in 20 matches each week, except the final week when 24 games are played. The entire event follows a round robin format and will include 5 teams that have been directly invited to the event.

11. Where You Land Matters

When you’re playing PUBG mobile, where you land can mean the difference between a long match and short one. Misjudging your initial landing can leave you in a hotspot zone where you’re right in the middle of enemy fire.

It may seem tempting to land right in the middle of a great loot spot, but it’s important to make sure that you’re far enough away from other players. Seasoned players will be heading for these spots and setting themselves up in hidden spots to take out other players.

If you’re new to the game, you may want to avoid these hotspot areas entirely.

When you’re in freefall, look for a safe area. Ideally, you want to choose a spot with buildings where you can find some loot and move forward. Buildings appear as white blocks on the map, so head for these areas.

Don’t spend too long looking for the perfect landing spot. Every second that you spend in the air is another second players have to grab loot and gain an advantage over you.

pubg bots

12. You May be Playing with AI Bots

PUBG now has artificial intelligence (AI) players, or bots, that fill the matchmaking queues. When playing public matches, you will probably run into these bots. For beginners, AI players can help you learn the ropes.

The makers of PUBG have addressed this issue for concerned players. First, it’s important to note that bots aren’t very smart. Most are just there as target practice. New players will likely encounter a lot of bots initially until their MMR improves. It’s believed that bots are really there to help new players get some confidence and develop their skills.

How can you tell when a player is a bot? Check the name. Virtually all bot names have an underscore in them. AI players will fight each other, so it may not be easy to tell who’s a real player and who’s an NPC.

pubg attachment

13. Attachments Can Give You an Advantage

As a general rule of thumb, you want to grab as many attachments as you can when playing PUBG mobile. That’s because attachments can give you an advantage by extending the range of your weapon.

An assault rifle with a scope can be even better than a sniper rifle.

Even with attachments, some guns are only useful in certain scenarios. Shotguns, for example, are useless in an open field, but they’re great for taking out enemies at close-range or in closed spaces.

pubg safe zone

14. There are Safe Zones

When playing PUBG, it is crucial to keep your eye on the map. Maps have circles, or safe zones, that players have to stay in. If you’re outside of the zone, you will take damage every second. As time goes on, the safe zones get smaller and the damage gets stronger.

If you find yourself outside of the circle for too long, you’ll die. In the final stage, you won’t last more than ten seconds outside of the safe zone.

New safe circles will show up on your map as a white outline, so if you keep an eye on the map, you will know where to go next. At the start of the game, you may not need to rush to start moving toward the zone, but as the play area shrinks and the damage increases, you will need to move as quickly as possible.

pubg vehicles

15. Vehicles Give You an Easy Way to Travel

Just like in real life, a vehicle will get you around the map faster than running on foot. Vehicles are scattered across the map, but they’re most commonly found near roads and near larger cities.

Remember that other players will also be going after vehicles, so you’ll need to be quick about grabbing one.

If you’re running in a squad, Jeeps are great for carrying around multiple players and offer a decent amount of protection. They’re slower, but they’re a safer option compared to a motorcycle. Motorcycles are quicker, but they leave you exposed.

The controls on mobile can be a little tricky to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you will see the benefit of using vehicles.

pubg character

16. The Royale Pass Gives You More Rewards

PUBG now has a Royale Pass similar to Fortnite’s pass. It gives you a ton of rewards as you move up through the ranks. The basic pass is free. The Elite Royale Pass can be purchased with UC, the game’s currency. The Elite Pass Plus is available with some extra rewards and will automatically grant you 25 ranks. You can buy PUBG UC here and save a huge amount of money and it is cheaper buying UC from online retailers.

None of these rewards will give you in-game boosts, but they will make you look cool. They usually contain cosmetic items and new outfits.

With millions of players, PUBG Mobile is easily one of the most popular mobile games out there. Join the hundreds of millions of players that have already installed PUBG Mobile and have made it one of the most popular games on mobile.
