A Big New Adventure Await Guardians For Destiny: The Taken King

We are about a month away from the release of Destiny’s biggest expansion yet, The Taken King. So far, Bungie have been teasing gamers with gameplay information for the next expansion. However, during Gamescom, fans were treated to a slew of story-related information, starting with The Taken King himself, Oryx.

The cinematic trailer gave fans a good look at Oryx and his minions. Serving as a prologue, the trailer sets up the reasoning behind Oryx rage against the Guardians of Destiny. As Eris Morn narrates in the background, we get to see the Dreadnaught, the latest location for Guardians to explore and wage battle against the Taken King and his army.

Bungie could’ve left it at that and most gamers would’ve been satisfied, but to keep your taste for Destiny lingering, a second trailer was dropped which features gameplay footage from the new expansion. Check out the “We Are Guardians” trailer embedded below for some Destiny gameplay goodness.

As with the title itself, the “We Are Guardians” trailers focuses more on the Guardians themselves with each class getting their spotlight. The Titans, Warlock and Hunters were given time to show off their new powers that will come with The Taken King expansion set.

But the trailer wasn’t just about the Guardians only. Gamers were also treated to glimpses of the new enemies of Destiny, which are “The Taken”. Enemies of different races that have been taken by Oryx and are under his command. And these are not just simple re-skins of old enemies. No, these “Takens” come with a whole new arsenal that will surely test the mettle of Guardians.

Despite looking like the odds are overwhelming, Bungie is not letting you go to battle without some new arsenal of your own. Bungie community and marketing relations manager Eric “Urk” Osbourne spoke to IGN that for the expansion, “We’ve got more weapons and gear than were in the shipping game back in September 2014.”

They continued teasing the new weapons stating that gamers should expect “tons of new exotics” and “tons of new gear” and weapons. This should come in handy when guardins go through the “biggest raid ever” with The Taken King.

Destiny: The Taken King will come to Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 15th.
