Alex Joins The Fight In Street Fighter 5’s First DLC Character

Another familiar character joins Street Fighter V‘s roster of fighters. The brutish brawler Alex from Street Fighter III is making his debut on Street Fighter V as the first DLC character.

Capcom has just released a clip on YouTube that officially announces Alex as well as showing off his moves.

Alex will be available for free as part of Capcom’s April update which Capcom originally intended to include the In-Game Shop but revealed that it was not ready. The free DLC fighter will apparently be available for a trial period until Capcom can get the In-Game Shop to work.

Here’s a brief excerpt from Capcom:

“Since the In-Game Shop for real currency (aka Zenny) is not available just yet, we’re offering Alex as a free trial period to all players, until the Zenny shop launches. This also applies to any future DLC character that releases prior to the Zenny shop launching. Once the Zenny shop launches, the free trial for DLC characters that released prior to the Zenny shop opening will end, and you’ll need to use Fight Money, Zenny, or the Season Pass to access those characters.”

While Alex employs a slower and heavier combat, he balances it with the hits that are impactful with some interesting combos and V-Skills. Are you excited for the release of Alex? Let us know in the comments!
