Bungie Is Set to Revamp Destiny 2’s Eververse Store By End Of This Year

Bungie’s Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is bringing changes to the game’s Eververse cosmetic store.

With the addition of Armor 2.0 system as part of Shadowkeep, all Eververse armor will convert to a new system known as universal ornaments. Rather than bits of armor which come with their own perks, Eververse loot will be able to alter the appearance of any present Legendary armor piece in the game.

This is a new Transmog system for Destiny armor, and Destiny’s team are changing Bright Dust from a pay- and/or play-to-earn currency to a play-to-earn reward. Bright Dust will be given as a reward for completing Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties. The developers wants all players to earn Dust for playing, not for spending money and destroying a bunch of items in their inventory. After players complete all their bounties for the week, there will be an additional avenue to keep grinding out Bright Dust.

As of this September, all Eververse armor is being converted into Universal Ornaments. These Universal Ornaments can be applied to all of the Legendary armor sets we’re releasing this Fall. They override the look of your equipped gear while preserving the perks, mods, and stats of the original item.

Any Eververse Armor that players have acquired in their Collections will have its Universal Ornaments automatically unlocked for use on new Legendary armor. Players who have already earned a whole lot of Eververse items over the years of Destiny 2 will retroactively unlock older armor ornaments.

Bungie will launch Destiny 2: Shadowkeep along with Eververse changes on September 17 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
