Early 2017 Is When We’ll See Mass Effect: Andromeda

It looks we won’t be seeing Mass Effect: Andromeda this year, according to EA’s CFO during an EA presentation at Morgan Stanley Technology. That’s another delay this year for AAA games.

The report was based on a recording from a NeoGAF user Quentyn, who posted the entire recording. While you can head over here to check out the whole presentation itself, here’s the actual quote that mentions Mass Effect: Andromeda.

“We’ve got a great year ahead… we’ve got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter, and our third-party title that Respawn, our partner, built, it’s called Titanfall, it’s the second title that they brought into that brand. Both of those are first-person shooters and will be targeted around the fast, action-driven shooter market, as well as the strategy-driven market in that quarter… We have our Mirror’s Edge runner game this first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So, big year ahead and we’re pretty excited.”

This confirms that Mass Effect: Andromeda is well under way in development, however, putting it as a Q4 game means we won’t be seeing it until at earliest, Q1 2017. While we might have to wait a bit longer for the game, fans will probably choose a delay over a rushed release for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is currently scheduled for a Q1 2017 release and will come to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
