Fallout 4 Survival Mode Beta Is Available For Steam Users

The much demanded Survival Mode for Fallout 4 is now available in Beta for Steam users. The announcement came via a post in Bethesda’s community portal where the features of the Survival Mode was listed out.

The Survival Mode was a staple in previous Fallout games whereby the difficulty s increased by changing certain parameters in the game such as the removal of fast travel and the need to maintain hunger and sleep. Now that it’s coming to Fallout 4, fans can really experience what it’s like to live in the wastelands.

Here is the list of features that will be available in the Survival Mode beta:

New Survival difficulty

- Survival adds additional challenges including no fast travel, saving only when you sleep, increased lethality, diseases, fatigue, danger and more. Get detailed information on Bethesda.net.
- Characters set to Survival difficulty appear under their own Character Selection filter
- Survival difficulty characters are not backwards compatible with the 1.4 version of Fallout 4. If you opt out of the Beta, do not use Survival character saved games.

If you’re a console owner, Bethesda promised that once that beta testing is finished in the PC version, the Survival Mode will be made available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the meantime, you can play the latest DLC from Fallout 4, The Automatron, which is available now for $9.99.
