Final Fantasy XV Gameplay Trailer Mixes Stealth And Combat

The 15th installment of the fantasy JRPG series by Square Enix is starting the train hype with plenty of news coming from the publishers. On March 30th, Square Enix will hold an event to reveal the release date for Final Fantasy XV, but before that, they gave a little appetizer with a new gameplay footage for fans.

Final Fantasy XV Arena Highwind

In the gameplay trailer, Square Enix gave fans a look at the Active Time Battle in Final Fantasy XV and also, a stealth portion in the game. The trailer started with Noctis crouching around the facility and using his teleportation attacks to take down enemy guards. When he got discovered, the game transition into a more active battle system.

While Square Enix had given snippets of the battle system in action before, this trailer gave us a good look at how combat works in the game, plus it also showed some of the team attacks that players can utilize.

The Active Time Battle has, more or less, replaced the traditional turn-based format in the core Final Fantasy games, Because of that, Final Fantasy XV feels a lot more like an action game than it does as a JRPG. Even the trailer itself seems to take cues from last year’s award-winning action game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Nevertheless, Final Fantasy XV looks beautiful and plays beautifully as well, as we can tell from the footage. When 30th March comes around for the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event, we will finally know when we can get our hands on Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy XV is set to come to Playstation 4 and Xbox One. A release date for the game will be announced during Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV Uncovered, happening on 30th March in California. A PC port is rumored to be in development as well, but no official news has been announced by Square Enix.
