Monster Hunter: World Was Delayed On PC To Get It Right

Monster Hunter: World is expected to arrive in two weeks time on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but Capcom was aiming for an autumn 2018 launch for PC instead. Monster Hunter’s producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explains that the delay of the game is due to technological hurdles related to PC servers and matchmaking, which the development team is currently addressing.

For the main Monster Hunter game, this is our first PC title and it’s something we want to make sure we get right,” Tsujimoto tells GR. “So rather than have it taking up resources during the console development and not it not being able to have our full attention on it. We want to get console out the door and then we’re going to take some extra time and try and get the PC version as good as possible.

Being that this is Capcom’s first attempt on creating a PC version of a game, you can understand why Capcom decided to delay Monster Hunter: World and put extra effort into it. As for the consoles, they already have an existing network in place for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Monster Hunter: World will officially launch on January 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
