New DLCs Planned For Metal Gear Online

While Hideo Kojima has moved on from Metal Gear Solid and is focusing on his new studio, Kojima Productions, Konami instead decides to double down on the franchise and starts off by announcing planned DLCs for Metal Gear Online in the future.

In a twitter post on Metal Gear Online‘s official account, the multiplayer portion of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain can expect to see “new maps, Survival, and more!” While no specific dates have been given yet, expect more details to surface from Konami sometime in the future.

One of the features from previous Metal Gear Online iterations was Survival, whereby players have to sustain win streaks which will give them more Reward points. Most likely the same mechanics will be present in the new Metal Gear Online. As for maps, most likely it will be locations from previous games, remade for the current Metal Gear Online.

MGO DLC

Despite a public split from Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, Konami has made it clear that they will continue on with the franchise and is planning the next installment of the stealth-action franchise. Support and updates are still coming for Metal Gear Online with the recent Patch 1.02 allowing players to level up easier, and tweaks to the weapons for a new balance.

While Konami continues to bring updates and DLC to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online, it remains to be seen whether fans will still flock to the next release of Metal Gear from Konami after what is considered an absolute PR nightmare for the Japanese studio.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see until the next Metal Gear game comes out. Until then, check back with OffGamers for all your gaming news.
