Nintendo Unveils New Pokémon Title Coming To Smartphones In Japan
Mobile users in Japan will be getting a taste of what Nintendo plans to bring to the smartphone market. Pokémon Co-master, a digital board game that infuses Shogi (or Go) with Pokémon characters and mechanics is coming to iOS and Android devices.
The development of the game is a collaboration between the Pokémon Company with Heroz Japan, a software studio that specializes in AI development with a pedigree for creating board games AI.
Pokémon Co-master will be a free-to-play game for the iOS and Android with online play for competitive matches. The game is currently announced for release in Japan only.
While we won’t be getting Pokémon Co-master anytime soon, we can still look forward to Pokémon Go, the mobile game that Nintendo’s developing for a worldwide release.
