Quake Champions Is Now Free-To-Play

At Quakecon 2018, Bethesda Softworks has announced that the first person shooter from id Software, Quake Champions, will be permanently free to play.

Quake Champions will remain in Early Access, but, players will have access to all Quickplay, Ranked and Arcade game modes and maps currently available in Early Access, plus two free Champions: Ranger and Scalebearer. New players can unlock more Champions by completing the in-game tutorial and by earning Favor, an in-game currency used to unlock Champions and Backpacks just by playing matches.

Additionally, there’s one free Champion on rotation every week. Players can opt for the paid Starter Pack or the Champions Pack for $19.79 which includes the full roster of current and future Champions, three Loot Chests, an exclusive Early Access Ranger skin, and the ability to play in custom games. Champions are also purchasable using Platinum, Quake Champions’ premium currency.The game can be downloaded at Steam for free.
