Rumor Has It That Apple Wants To Launch Its Own Gaming Subscription Service

Apple is considering launching its own subscription service that provides its members access to a library of games in exchange for a flat monthly subscription fee.

Few developers speaking under anonymity told Cheddar that the project is still in the early stages of development, and Apple has also thought about partnering with developers as a publisher. Apple knows that games are by far the most popular category on the App Store and it helps them generate a ton of revenues. Since the company wanted to increase their revenue streams beyond mobile phones and hardwares, launching their own Netflix of games services could be lucrative and is set to give EA, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo a run for its money.

There’s no details on pricing and what games will be included in the subscription at this time.
