This week, Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata was laid to rest in Kyoto, Japan. Satoru Iwata was a man who not only shaped the face of modern Nintendo, but is also one of the men who influenced the future of the gaming industry. To him, he is a corporate president on his business card, in his mind he is a game developer, but in his heart he is a gamer.

According to Polygon, more than 4,000 Nintendo fans attended the two-day service in Japan and offered their memories and tributes to Iwata and Nintendo.For nearly a week, developers, artists, media, gamers and fans from around the world have flooded the internet with their well-wishes and respect for Nintendo and Satoru Iwata.

He has put a smile on every face all over the world, through Super Mario, Kirby Adventure, Alcahest, and Mother 3. Thank you very much, Satoru Iwata, Rest in Peace.
