Sony Is Making A Comeback In The Mobile Market With The Xperia X
For the past few years, Sony’s mobile devices have not been making waves in the US mobile market. Because of that, the Xperia Z series tend to be mostly sold outside of the U.S. with some models making its way months after a global launch.
Now, though, Sony aims to re-enter the U.S. mobile market with a new line that will target the “unlocked” phone users instead of pairing with a carrier. Meet the new Xperia X series from Sony.
Considered as the culmination of Xperia Z, the Xperia X series is set to take center stage for the US market with a more focused designed and philosophy. The three models shown off at the MWC 2016 were the Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia X Performance. Sporting a uniform 5-inch screen, the specification for each handset runs the gamut from mid-range (Snapdragon 650 chip, 3GB of RAMs) to the cutting edge (Snapdragon 820 processor).

As of right now, Sony has not released any details in terms of pricing or release dates. However, it is expected that devices will make its way to the U.S. sometime in the summer.
