The adventures of Jesse will now come to Wii U as Nintendo has announced that Telltale Games’ Minecraft: Story Mode will be making its way to the Wii U on January 21st.

The announcement was made at Nintendo’s official site with the confirmation that the first episode, ‘The Order of the Stone‘, is to be made available on the Nintendo eShop on Wii U for $4.99 to North American audiences. Additional episodes are expected for release in the coming weeks and fans can opt for a Season Pass, priced at $19,99, for access to episodes 2 through 5, when it comes to Nintendo’s eShop.

On the Wii U, Minecraft: Story Mode will have new Wii U-specific features such as “off-TV play and mirroring, so players can continue the story on Wii U GamePad controller, as well as seamlessly integrated touch-control options that allow players to use the joysticks and buttons or simply tap and guide the story directly on the screen at any time.”

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1

Minecraft: Story Mode follows the adventures of Jesse, either male or female as chosen by players, as he/she visits the familiar locales of Minecraft such as the Overworld, the Nether, and the End in a bid to save the world of Minecraft from destruction. Developed by Telltale Games, Minecraft: Story Mode gives players dialog choices, puzzles, and great story-telling, that Telltale Games are known for.

While Minecraft: Story Mode doesn’t feature the same open-world/world-building freedom as Minecraft, Telltale Games managed to put in some gameplay elements that requires the usage of Minecraft’s signature world-building creativity. Plus, with an all-star cast of Patton Oswalt, Ashley Johnsons, Corey Feldman, and Dave Fennoy to name a few, Minecraft: Story Mode is the perfect family-friendly game to enjoy with the rest of the family.

Minecraft: Story Mode ‘Episode 1: The Order of the Stone’, will be available for the Wii U on January 21st, 2016. Need to pick up a USD20 Nintendo eShop Card? OffGamers has got you covered. Purchase your Nintendo eShop Card at OffGamers and receive your codes instantaneously!
