Would You Buy An Upgraded PlayStation 4.5 In The Future?

An upgraded version of Sony’s flagship console is rumored to be currently in the works. Codenamed the ‘PlayStation 4.5′, the console is said to be a more powerful version of the PlayStation 4 with the capability to run games at 4K resolution.

PlayStation 4.5

Reports came from Kotaku who claims that key “sources” who are developers at Sony tipped them off about the PS4.5’s development. They claim that the console will be a 4K ready machine with a new GPU that can support running both 4K games and improve running the processor-heavy PlayStation VR games.

Kotaku went to cite multiple developer sources that seem to echo the same points as the Sony developer source. The report of an upgraded PlayStation 4 has caught gaming outlets and personalities in a storm with plenty of them siding against the need for console iteration upgrades.

Currently, no official response has been given from Sony when Kotaku pressed for answers other than the standard “we do not comment on rumors or speculation”.

Would you purchase a new “iteration” of the PlayStation 4 or you would rather wait for the inevitable PlayStation 5? Let us know in the comments!
